The existing framework for Kaiser Permanente’s digital experience was tailored to an integrated HMO delivery model. Kaiser Permanente introduced a new PPO plan to provide an option for care outside of the HMO-centric paradigm. The digital offering needed to expand to include useful and relevant information for the PPO member.

The scope and timeline were locked when this project came to the UX team. However, I quickly identified that the scope did not meet the stakeholder or user needs, and I worked to align needs within the digital offering. I did a content audit of existing sites for the PPO users, and worked on a phased approach for an MVP to long-term solution. Throughout the replanning stage of this project, I held weekly, iterative design sessions with stakeholders, and worked with a researcher to conduct rapid usability testing to validate the direction. Prototypes to support this work were built in both Invision and Axure.
